Huge thank you to Wyatt Oden
and Joe Meza for their efforts in the recent Club Day, signing up about 117 students within two hours. Amazing!

Besides hosting the first meeting in the lovely Tutor Center, Key Club has been able to host their first tailgate ever, write letters to the troops, show their spirit by wearing the newly designed Key Club Sweatshirts and getting involved in community service.

While the next meeting is TBA, our upcoming events consist of Homecoming Club Day on the 3rd and a major volunteer event of setting up for the Homecoming Game on the 5th from 12pm-2pm or 2pm-4pm.

Our focus drive is For the Troops. Please select the tab for more information. Thanks!

Hello, lovely Key Club Members ~ HUGE thank you for coming out and supporting Key Club at yesterday's meeting! We had an INCREDIBLE turnout, so on behalf of the leadership team, we are forever grateful.

Please be checking your Blackboard for upcoming details on the Tailgate! We are in a GREAT need for supplies for our spirit activities especially face-paint and hairspray! If you can bring supplies, it would be much appreciated! Promotion will be a major focus this week - flyers/posters/the whole nine-yards are welcomed. Make sure to invite your friends to socialize and get to know Key Club! Don't forget to email [email protected] if you are interested in volunteering! (Don't forget about volunteering at one club event such as Fall Club Day or this Tailgate per semester as part of your membership!)

Membership/Sweatshirts - I'm sorry neither was really mentioned at the beginning of the meeting. Our lovely Treasurer, Amy Philip, will continue to accept memberships ($15) and sweatshirt payments ($22) for those who qualified. Feel free to leave this with her, drop it off to Ms. Leonetti's room or leave it with me. ✰

Upcoming Events -

Street clean up: Saturday, August 25th, meet at the corner of Mason ave and Chatsworth st. from 9am-12pm! If you want to have an especially productive morning, come out, wear some comfortable clothing especially if it starts to heat up - feel free to comment with questions. We'll be working with Chatsworth Key Club! ☼

Special Olympics: Maywood Activity Center, 4801 East 58 St. Maywood CA 90270, from 9am-6pm. Contact: Joseph Park, Community Service Chair (More details to follow) However, from what Joseph has shared, it is a really rewarding event, so please consider carpooling to Maywood - it's a bit far (51 mins)!

Divisional Council Meeting: Get to know Key Club members from other clubs in the valley!! This really fun, sociable meeting is hosted at Warner Center Park (across from AMC, 5800 Topanga Blvd) from 2pm-3pm (you can still sleep in!), so get a taste of the incredible spirit of this division. We can even meet up for lunch beforehand (:

These are just a few upcoming events ~ I'll need to look for more, and you will be updated soon! (: Thank you for coming out yesterday and we really hope to see you, our promising future leaders, at next Friday's tailgate! ツ

Q: What are DCMs and why are they important to me as a member?

Please plan to attend our next meeting in Room 505 at 2:15pm, moderated by Ms. Leonetti! We will be discussing upcoming events, with special focus on the Hope of the Valley Clothing Drive. Please read the post above for more information! This meeting is projected to last about 20 minutes.

If you are a potential officer,  you are required to attend the candidate training/information meeting for an estimated 15 minutes after our regular meeting. Your candidacy will be deemed invalid if you fail to attend. Please email us at [email protected] or talk to a current officer/Ms. Leonetti with concerns.

Please join us at our next meeting! We will be discussing the District Convention and the LA Marathon. As always, new members are always welcomed!

We will also be conducting the elections for officers. Please be sure, if you are running, that you are a paid member. If you do not pay by the 28th, your candidacy will be ruled as void. Also, all candidates are reviewed by the Board, regardless of the final outcome. Discussing participation in specific events, your knowledge of your potential position (feel free to reference http://www.cnhkeyclub.org) and your genuine Key Club spirit will benefit you. Please, do note that being an officer requires responsibility. Nothing less than complete dedication and frequent communication will be allowed.

Get to know Key Club, and we look forward to your speeches and participation in the elections!
